According to reports from prominent automotive platforms, Toyota has officially announced new prices and changes to the model lineup of its popular subcompact SUVs, the 2027 Toyota Corolla Cross and Corolla Cross Hybrid.
Under the revised pricing structure, the hybrid range now starts at a slightly higher price, while improvements have also been made to the vehicles’ overall quality. According to reports, Toyota has decided to streamline the Corolla Cross Hybrid lineup for the 2027 model year by discontinuing its entry-level S trim. As a result, buyers will now be able to choose only between the SE and XSE variants.
The removal of the base trim has increased the hybrid model’s starting price by $1,620, bringing the entry-level price to $31,415, while the top-of-the-line XSE variant costs up to $34,130. Meanwhile, prices for the conventional petrol-powered models have undergone minor adjustments.
These models start at $25,535, with prices increasing across the different trim levels, including the L, LE and XLE. Automotive experts say the petrol-powered models are available with both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options.
The hybrid model, on the other hand, comes standard with an electronic all-wheel drive system, providing improved traction and performance on unpaved roads and in challenging weather conditions. Both models also feature Toyota’s advanced Safety Sense package, a spacious cabin, improved cargo space and a modern touchscreen infotainment system equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Automotive market analysts say that although these changes mean consumers will have to spend more to purchase a hybrid model, the vehicle remains an economical and attractive option compared with competing brands in its segment, thanks to its build quality, impressive fuel efficiency and competitive pricing. The Corolla Cross is also considered a suitable choice for families, offering practicality for everyday use as well as long-distance travel.
