The lead singer of the popular rock band, 3 Doors Down, Brad Arnold, has passed away at the age of 47 after a battle with kidney cancer.
In a post on X, the band, 3 Doors Down, announced the singer had passed away peacefully in his sleep on February 7, surrounded by his family at the time of death.
The band also paid a tribute to Brad’s achievements, saying that he redefined mainstream rock music. He was called a remarkable songwriter for his ability to invoke the right emotions in the band’s audiences.
Brad Arnolds formed 3 Doors Down in 1996. The band ranked high on pop and rock radio channels in the 2000s and 2010s and won three Billboard Music Awards.
Brad Arnold’s legacy
As a founding member and former drummer, Brad Arnold had a unique style, blending post-grunge accessibility with emotional lyrical themes. His dedication led to the production of hits like Kryptonite in 2000, a song the singer wrote when he was only 15.
In a statement on X, the band expressed deep admiration for his personality by saying, “Above all, he was a devoted husband to Jennifer, and his kindness, humour, and generosity touched everyone fortunate enough to know him. Those closest to him will remember not only his talent, but his warmth, humility, faith, and deep love for his family and friends.”
The singer revealed he got diagnosed with stage 4 clear cell renal cell carcinoma in May 2025. Later, he publicly announced that the cancer had spread to his lungs in a clip on social media. His fans responded by sending the songwriter messages of hope and warmth along with prayers.
