In Pakistan regarding the country’s ceasefire initiatives a recent Gallup survey had highlighted strong public awareness and support. The findings say 82% of Pakistanis are aware of the government ceasefire efforts aimed at promoting peace in conflict situation.
The survey further revealed overwhelming backing for Pakistan’s role, with 93% of respondents expressing support for the country’s involvement in ceasefire efforts. This reflects a broad national consensus in favor of peace-oriented policies.
Additionally, 88% of Pakistanis believe the country should play an active role in addressing international conflicts, indicating a preference for diplomatic engagement on the global stage.
Encouragingly, 80% of those surveyed expressed optimism that temporary ceasefires could eventually lead to long-term peace, signaling hope among the public for sustainable conflict resolution.
The Gallup survey underscores a strong public inclination toward peace, diplomacy, and proactive international engagement.
PM Shehbaz meets Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in the Prime Minister’s office. PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir urged the US and Iran to stay calm for the peace and stability in the region.
Both PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir showed commitment to work for peace and stability in the region, adding that both leaders will continuously work for peace talks between the US and Iran.
PM Shehbaz and Field Marshal Asim Munir also praised the patience shown by the US and Iran.
The meeting reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to continue its mediation role for lasting peace in the region.
Prime Minister’s Office wrote on X, “Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), COAS & CDF called on the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif at the Prime Minister’s Office. The dignitaries reviewed the progress of Pakistan’s mediatory efforts to achieve sustainable peace in the region.
