NADRA announces online facility for Islamabad residents

ISLAMABAD: National Database & Registration Authority (NADRA) has announced another online facility for the residents of Islamabad.

As per details, the authority has launched an online biometric verification service for the sale and purchase of vehicles registered in Islamabad through the Pak-ID mobile app.

The NADRA announcement stated that citizens can now complete biometric verification from home using the Pak-ID mobile app, without the need to visit offices.

Following the verification, buyers and sellers can proceed with the remaining transfer process at the relevant department.

The new feature is available under the “ICT Vehicle” section of the Pak-ID app, which already provides various identity-related services. NADRA says the upgrade aims to make vehicle transfers faster, easier, and more secure. Citizens can access the service through the Pak-ID app.

NADRA Digital Revolution with Pak-ID App for ID Services

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has introduced a major digital shift through its Pak-ID mobile app, which allows citizens across Pakistan to apply for identity cards, pay fees, and track applications directly from their smartphones.

The app, which was launched to make identification services easier to access, has already registered over 1.2 million applications during the past quarter, a 45 per cent increase in digital submissions.

With more than 10 million downloads, Pak-ID is now one of the country’s leading public service apps, helping Pakistan move closer to a fully digital identity system.

NADRA’s Pak-ID mobile application has transformed the way Pakistani citizens access identity-related services.

With this digital innovation, people no longer need to visit NADRA centres in person; instead, they can apply for their national identity cards, pay fees, and track their applications directly from their smartphones.

According to official data, over 1.2 million applications were submitted through the Pak-ID app in the last quarter alone, showing a 45 per cent increase in digital submissions.

NADRA’s Pak-ID App Simplifies ID Services

Currently, more than 10,000 cases are being processed daily via the app, accounting for around 10 per cent of NADRA’s total workload.

Through Pak-ID, users can also book appointments, locate the nearest NADRA centre, check estimated waiting times, upload required documents, and securely store digital copies of their ID records.

Combined with the digital payment systems in Pakistan, the app allows making transactions entirely cashless with the help of Raast, debit and credit cards, EMI, and internet banking.

It also supports both English and Urdu languages and is compatible with Android and iOS users.

NADRA plans to introduce several new features in the coming months, including at-home biometric verification, AI-powered assistance, a digital ID wallet, and real-time smart notifications.
