Web desk: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a luncheon in Islamabad in honour of the cricket teams from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe participating in the ongoing Tri-Nation Series on Wednesday.
PM Shehbaz urged all teams to demonstrate sportsmanship and mutual respect throughout the series.
The prime minister said all matches were being organised under the leadership of PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi with an effective strategy.
PM Shehbaz added that hosting international cricket was a sign of Pakistan’s positive image, peace and stability.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said the Tri-Nation Series would give cricket fans an opportunity to enjoy high-quality matches and would also strengthen friendship and cooperation between the three participating countries.
He reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to host international teams in the future.
Sindh Chief Minister, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar attended the luncheon.
The Sri Lankan High Commissioner, Rear Admiral, and Zimbabwean High Commissioner Titus Abu Basuto were also present.
PM Shehbaz Hosts Luncheon for Tri-Nation Teams
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif hosted a luncheon in honour of the cricket teams from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe participating in the Tri-Nation Series.
The prime minister urged them to display strong sportsmanship and mutual respect. Noting that such conduct would set a positive example for the younger generation.
Shehbaz Sharif also lauded the Pakistan Cricket Board, led by Chairman Mohsin Naqvi. For organising the series with effective planning and professional management.
PM Shehbaz added that the Tri-Nation Series would offer cricket fans high-quality matches. And hoped the event would strengthen cooperation and friendship among the three participating nations.
The luncheon was attended by Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Interior Minister and PCB Chairman Mohsin Raza Naqvi, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar. And by the Railways Minister Muhammad Hanif Abbasi, and the High Commissioners of Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
