Chief selector Aqib Javed has revealed that Pakistan has discovered a promising fast-bowling talent capable of bowling at speeds exceeding 150 km/h.
Speaking on former Pakistan captain Salman Butt’s podcast, Aqib Javed described the young pacer from Jhang as a “rare diamond” and said the bowler’s impressive pace has brought fresh hope to Pakistan’s fast-bowling future.
The revelation comes as Pakistan continues its search for the next generation of express fast bowlers to strengthen its pace attack. He said that Pakistan’s weakness was the lack of a genuine fast bowler, but that gap has now been filled.
Aqib Javed added that Ali Raza, Subhan, Abuzar, and Razaullah are among the bowlers who can bowl at high speeds. He said the team is now focused on training them and bringing them into the spotlight in the upcoming season.
The Director of High Performance stated that Pakistan cricket is incomplete without fast bowlers, and that the country’s cricketing identity has always been built around pace bowling. He further said that three or four fast bowlers will soon emerge and represent Pakistan at the highest level.
