Punjab PULSE RoD online portal on a laptop to download land records from home

The Punjab Urban Land Systems Enhancement (PULSE) project has introduced a new online system that allows citizens to access their land records from home.

Through the Registration of Deeds (RoD) portal (rod.pulse.gop.pk), property owners can download up-to-date land records within seconds. This policy intervention aim is to facilitate public to avoid standing in long queues or dealing with agents and intermediaries.

Earlier, getting land documents was a slow and difficult process even ended with brawl between the government officials and common people.

Citizens often had to visit multiple government offices several times and wait weeks for their records. At the time of land transfer due to selling and purchasing of property, irrespective of commercial, residential or agricultural land; the process of getting a land record was a hectic process even a major hurdle in big property deals between the investors.

Even for government staff, searching land files could take months, especially in older or complicated cases. The most complicated scenario was when competent courts orders to extract years old land record from government offices and the records are not available. The aggrieved person despite indulging in long court battles cannot lay claims on his or her land.

But now, with the new RoD portal, the entire process has been digitised and simplified.

Users can search, verify, and download their property record online, making it faster, more transparent, and less dependent on manual paperwork.

Officials say this facility is part of Punjab’s wider effort to modernise land administration, reduce the risk of tampering or corruption, and make services more citizen-friendly.

The government has encouraged people to use the new system, stressing that checking land records is now “just a click away” for residents across the province.
