The Meteorological Department has forecast a dry winter across Pakistan, with no rain expected in November and December.

Smog and fog are likely to increase in the plains, while no snowfall is predicted in the upper regions.

Deputy Director of Meteorology, Irfan Virk, said the weather will remain dry and chilly, with low temperatures and persistent smog and fog in the plains.

He added that water reserves in Tarbela and Mangla dams will need careful regulation, as there will be no additional supply from melting glaciers or snowfall.

Meteorological officials confirmed that the weather situation is being closely monitored to allow timely measures in case of drought.

Experts have urged that existing water reserves be used carefully to minimise the impact of water shortages due to the lack of rainfall.
