Major international airline Air Canada has announced that it will not restart flights to Dubai until 2027. According to the latest travel update from the airline, it has cancelled all flights to Dubai until mid-January 2027.

The airline had planned to restart the route in October as part of its winter schedule. However, it has now delayed those plans. Flights by Emirates and flydubai are still operating normally from Dubai International Airport.

Dubai Airports CEO Paul Griffiths recently said many foreign airlines are facing problems getting insurance for flights to the region. Because of this, several international airlines have delayed their return to Dubai.

Despite these issues, Dubai International Airport continues to welcome millions of travellers. Emirates is also continuing its direct flights between Dubai and the Canadian cities of Montreal and Toronto.

Change travel plans with zero extra fee

Passengers who booked Air Canada flights to Dubai can change their travel plans without paying extra fees.

They can rebook their trip for a later date, choose another destination, or cancel their booking and receive travel credit for a future Air Canada flight.

Which airlines are delaying Dubai flights

Air Canada is not the only airline delaying its return. Virgin Atlantic has also said it will not resume flights to Dubai until 2027.

Air Canada expects to restart both its Dubai and Tel Aviv routes in the middle of January 2027.

At the same time, several other international airlines are planning to return to Dubai before the end of October. These include British Airways, Cathay Pacific, KLM, Singapore Airlines and Lufthansa.
