Authorities have restored the original medical board in the Mir Raza Ali case, while officials have scheduled the exhumation of his body for 11am on Saturday.
The Karachi Police Surgeon issued the schedule, stating that the medical board will carry out the exhumation under the supervision of a judicial magistrate. All board members have been directed to reach the cemetery by 10:30 am.
The exhumation will take place at a cemetery in the Ferozabad police station jurisdiction in the presence of the Civil Judge and Judicial Magistrate Karachi East. Officials have also informed the SSP East, the relevant SHOs and the investigation officer.
Earlier, the Sindh Health Department reinstated the original medical board for the exhumation. The board includes pathologists, forensic experts, medico-legal officers and representatives from the Police Surgeon’s Office.
The members include forensic expert Dr Farah Waseem, pathologist Prof Dr Naseem Ahmed, forensic identification expert Aamir Hassan of the CPLC Identification Project, Additional Police Surgeon Dr Sari Chand, Dr Kamran Khan, Dr Daniyal Mirza, Dr Muhammad Yaseen and Dr Samia Syed.
The notification allows the medical board to include additional experts if required.
Meanwhile, sources said police are keen to conduct the exhumation on Saturday, but the final decision will be taken after consultation with Mir Raza Ali’s family and the medical board.
