Hyundai Elantra 1.6 special edition set for nationwide debut

Hyundai has announced the arrival of the Elantra 1.6 Special Edition, with displays set to begin at dealerships nationwide from August 10, 2026. The latest variant comes with new features and is priced at PKR 6,449,000, positioning it as an updated offering in Hyundai’s sedan lineup.

According to the announcement, deliveries will commence from August 12, 2026, allowing customers to experience the new Special Edition shortly after its nationwide display launch. The introduction of the Elantra 1.6 Special Edition marks a strategic move by Hyundai Nishat to offer premium features, including power-adjustable seats, a sunroof, wireless charging, and LED lighting at a price well below PKR 7 million.

As local consumers increasingly weigh their options between higher-spec subcompact sedans and mid-size crossovers, the Special Edition presents a well-rounded sedan package with features tailored to the local market. With deliveries set to begin this month, interested buyers can visit their nearest Hyundai 3S dealership to view the display vehicles or secure their booking under the price-lock offer.

The commencement of deliveries marks a significant milestone for customers eagerly awaiting the Hyundai Elantra 1.6 Special Edition. As the first units reach buyers, customers will be able to experience the new variant firsthand and assess its features, comfort, performance, and overall on-road driving experience.

The delivery schedule is also an important consideration for prospective buyers, particularly those making arrangements for vehicle financing, registration, insurance, and accessories ahead of receiving their cars. A clear delivery timeline allows customers to better plan these requirements and prepare for a smooth handover.

On the other hand, Lucky Motor Corporation (LMC) has discontinued the Kia Picanto in Pakistan after nearly six years of local assembly, with new bookings reportedly closed across dealerships.

The 1,000cc hatchback was launched in Pakistan in September 2019 as Kia’s entry into the competitive small-car market. The model has now been removed from Kia’s local lineup, according to the information provided. LMC has not publicly given a detailed reason for the decision. The officials said that the discontinuation was due to low sales, weak resale value, relatively high maintenance costs and rising vehicle prices.
