Easypaisa rules transactions

Easypaisa users may have to pay specific service charges when using various financial and digital services after these new rules.

Easypaisa provides details of applicable fees through its Schedule of Charges, advising customers to check the current charges for the relevant service before carrying out any transaction.

According to available Easypaisa information, users transferring money to another bank account through Raast are charged a fee based on the transaction amount. Transfers ranging from Rs1 to Rs1,000 carry a Rs35 fee, while transfers of Rs1,001 to Rs2,500 are charged Rs50. Transactions between Rs2,501 and Rs4,000 carry a Rs65 fee, while Rs4,001 to Rs6,000 are charged Rs80. A Rs100 fee applies to transfers between Rs6,001 and Rs8,000, while transfers of Rs8,001 to Rs10,000 carry a Rs150 service charge. These charges are listed as inclusive of taxes.

For larger transfers, the applicable fee rises accordingly. Transfers of Rs10,001 to Rs13,000 carry a Rs200 charge, while Rs13,001 to Rs16,000 are charged Rs250. Transfers between Rs16,001 and Rs20,000 carry a Rs300 fee, while Rs20,001 to Rs25,000 are charged Rs350. A Rs400 fee applies to transfers between Rs25,001 and Rs30,000, while Rs30,001 to Rs40,000 carry a Rs450 charge. Transfers ranging from Rs40,001 to Rs50,000 are subject to a Rs500 service fee.

Users transferring money from one Easypaisa account to another are also subject to a specific fee structure. According to the available official FAQ, the first five transactions in a month are free. From the sixth to the 10th transaction, a fee equivalent to 1% of the transaction amount, inclusive of taxes, is charged. From the 11th transaction onwards, a 2% fee, inclusive of taxes, applies.

For example, if a customer sends Rs10,000 after using the five free monthly transactions, a 1% charge of Rs100 may apply to transactions six through 10. From the 11th transaction onwards, a Rs10,000 transfer could attract a 2% fee, amounting to Rs200.

Easypaisa customers sending money through CNIC transfers are also charged according to the amount being transferred. Transfers between Rs1 and Rs1,000 carry a Rs35 fee, while Rs1,001 to Rs2,500 transfers are charged Rs50. A Rs65 fee applies to transactions between Rs2,501 and Rs4,000, while Rs4,001 to Rs6,000 transfers carry an Rs80 charge. Transfers of Rs6,001 to Rs8,000 are charged Rs100, while Rs8,001 to Rs10,000 transfers carry a Rs150 fee.

Under the same schedule, CNIC transfers of Rs10,001 to Rs13,000 carry a Rs200 charge, while Rs13,001 to Rs16,000 transfers are charged Rs250. Transfers between Rs40,001 and Rs50,000 are subject to a Rs500 service fee.

According to Easypaisa, many routine transactions may be free, while charges apply to certain specific services. The company’s FAQ states that its charges are reviewed every three months, with customers advised to consult the latest Schedule of Charges before using a service.

Customers should also be aware of charges associated with cash withdrawals. Easypaisa’s FAQ lists a 1.75% transaction fee, inclusive of taxes, for withdrawing money from a mobile account. It also states that there is no monthly or annual fee for using an Easypaisa ATM card.

For instance, withdrawing Rs10,000 would result in an estimated charge of Rs175 at a rate of 1.75%, while withdrawing Rs20,000 would attract approximately Rs350.

The key takeaway for customers is to check the latest applicable fee before using any Easypaisa service, as charges may be reviewed on a quarterly basis. Easypaisa maintains a dedicated Schedule of Charges section on its official website, with separate details for branchless banking and retail banking services.

Experts advise digital wallet users to consider not only the amount being transferred but also the applicable service fee and taxes when calculating the total cost of a transaction. For customers who make frequent transfers, even relatively small charges can add up to a significant amount over the course of a month.

Users are also advised to keep transaction receipts or SMS confirmations, never share their OTP, PIN or MPIN with anyone, and immediately contact Easypaisa’s official helpline or complaint system in case of any suspicious transaction.

For Easypaisa users, the most important step is therefore to check the latest charges before making a money transfer, CNIC transfer, bank transfer or cash withdrawal. Doing so can help customers avoid unexpected deductions at the time of the transaction.
