AJK to hold re-polling at 23 polling stations on August 15

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Election Commission has ordered re-polling at 23 polling stations in two constituencies of Bagh on August 15.

Chief Election Commissioner Justice (retd) Ghulam Mustafa Mughal said the commission took the decision after receiving reports from the relevant returning officers.

The commission said voters will cast their ballots again at nine polling stations in LA-15 Bagh-2 and 14 polling stations in LA-16 Bagh-3.

In LA-15 Bagh-2, the returning officer has received results from 204 of the constituency’s 213 polling stations. In LA-16 Bagh-3, results from 172 of 186 polling stations have been received.

Re-polling in LA-15 Bagh-2 will take place at polling stations 114, 135, 143, 144, 145, 146, 147, 148 and 186.

In LA-16 Bagh-3, voters will cast their ballots again at polling stations 28, 29, 40, 49, 50, 51, 77, 91, 109, 110, 111, 112, 143 and 149.

The chief election commissioner urged voters in both constituencies to visit their designated polling stations on August 15 and vote to elect their representatives for the next five years.

Meanwhile, Awami Dast-o-Bazu candidate Sardar Sajid Abbasi has won LA-14 DhirKot, Bagh West, while Pakistan Peoples Party candidate and AJK Prime Minister Faisal Mumtaz Rathore has secured victory in LA-17 Haveli.
