Pakistani passport holders have several travel options in August, with several destinations offering visa-free entry, visa on arrival (VOA), electronic travel authorisation (ETA) and e-visa facilities.
While visa-free and visa-on-arrival destinations allow travellers to avoid applying for a traditional visa before departure, e-visa destinations require an online application and approval in advance.
Pakistan passport ranking
Pakistan is currently ranked 101st globally in the latest Henley Passport Index.
The country’s ranking has shifted during 2026:
- 2025: 103rd
- January 2026: 98th
- February 2026: 97th
- May 2026: 100th
- July 2026: 101st
Passport rankings can change as countries introduce visa waivers, revise visa-on-arrival policies or impose new entry requirements.
The 20th anniversary edition of the Henley Passport Index found that the average passport now provides access to 108 destinations, compared with 58 destinations when the index was launched in 2006.
What changed in the latest list?
The latest list differs from the earlier July update.
Cape Verde Islands, which was previously included as a visa-on-arrival destination, has been removed from the list. Pakistani passport holders now have access to 29 destinations under Henley’s visa-free, visa-on-arrival and ETA categories.
The current breakdown is:
- 11 visa-free destinations
- 15 visa-on-arrival destinations
- 3 ETA destinations
- 29 destinations in total
Visa-free, VOA, ETA and e-visa explained
- Visa-free: Travellers do not need to obtain a visa before departure, but they must meet the destination’s entry requirements.
- Visa on arrival (VOA): The visa is issued after the traveller arrives at the destination.
- ETA: An electronic travel authorisation obtained online before travel. It is different from a traditional visa.
- E-visa: A digital visa that requires an online application and approval before departure.

Pakistani citizens can currently travel to these 11 destinations without obtaining a visa before departure:

- Dominica
- Haiti
- Micronesia
- Montserrat
- Rwanda

Visa-on-arrival destinations
Pakistani passport holders can obtain a visa on arrival in 15 destinations:
- Burundi
- Cambodia
- Comoros Islands
- Djibouti
- Guinea-Bissau
- Madagascar
- Maldives
- Nepal
- Niue
- Palau Islands
- Samoa
- Senegal
- Sierra Leone
- Timor-Leste
- Tuvalu
Travellers should check whether a destination requires additional documents, fees or pre-registration before departure.
ETA destinations
Three destinations currently offer electronic travel authorisation options for Pakistani travellers:

- Seychelles
- Sri Lanka
An ETA generally needs to be obtained online before boarding and should not be confused with a traditional visa.

Pakistani passport holders can also apply for e-visas or online visas for a wider range of destinations.
These options can be useful for travellers planning winter holidays, as applications can generally be submitted online before departure. However, e-visa destinations are not included in Henley’s 29 visa-free, VOA and ETA destinations because an e-visa requires prior approval.
Asia
E-visa or online visa options include:
Bahrain, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Oman, Qatar, Singapore, Tajikistan, Thailand, Türkiye, the UAE, Vietnam, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan.
Europe
Online visa options include:

E-visa options include:
