Avengers Doomsday Special look

In Avengers: Doomsday, Marvel has given Robert Downey Jr. a new face; he is the villainous Doctor Doom. Downey is appearing in a Marvel movie for the first time since Avengers: Endgame.

The video that debuted at San Diego Comic-Con last month was released to the public Friday night, and was also displayed at D23.

Hugh Jackman also made an appearance in the D23 presentation in a video message, while Ryan Reynolds could be heard coaching from the sidelines for his role as Deadpool.

Jackman hinted that he’d be able to complete the cast of Avengers: Doomsday, but also said that he’d be willing to make Reynolds appear in the upcoming movie.

Reynolds has been spotted in his Deadpool persona before; at the Comic-Con panel he took the character on stage and surprised the show with his appearance, making a joke that he also wanted to be a part of the movie.

Avengers: Doomsday is directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, and they have a huge ensemble cast, representing characters from all of Marvel’s film universe.

It stars the likes of Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen (of the original X-Men franchise), as well as Avengers regulars Chris Evans and Chris Hemsworth.

Other cast members are Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Sebastian Stan, Florence Pugh, Wyatt Russell and David Harbour.

The film also stars some newer MCU characters like Simu Liu and the cast of the Fantastic Four: First Steps, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach and Joseph Quinn.

Marvel has already teased some characters and released a full-length trailer in July. Avengers: Doomsday is to be released in theatres on December 18.
