Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif addressed the Balochistan National Workshop in Islamabad on Friday, saying that the province’s issues should be resolved through dialogue.

He said the purpose of dialogue is to listen to the concerns and voices of the people of Balochistan, adding that it is Pakistan’s richest province.

“There is no doubt that Balochistan is that region of Pakistan which comprises not only Baloch and Pashtun nations whose history is one of courage, whose history is one of hospitality toward guests and tolerance,” The PM said.

“These are the great values of the tribes of Balochistan, which history has captured in magnificent words in its record, ” the PM further added.

He further said that Balochistan’s leaders and tribal elders chose to join Pakistan in 1947 through conviction and mutual agreement, rather than force.

He also paid tribute to Qazi Muhammad Isa, Mir Jafar Khan Jamali, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti and others for their role in Balochistan’s accession to Pakistan.

PM Shehbaz announces expansion of Daanish Schools

Recently, PM Shehbaz Sharif announced plans to expand the Daanish Schools network to other provinces.

He urged the provincial governments to establish similar institutions for deserving and underprivileged students.

Addressing a ceremony in Islamabad to mark International Youth Day, the prime minister said equal access to quality education was important for Pakistan’s development.

He added that young people must be given opportunities to study modern sciences and technology. This would help the country compete globally.

Shehbaz Sharif said Daanish Schools were providing quality education to deserving children from less privileged backgrounds.

He also recalled the laptop distribution programme launched during his tenure as Punjab chief minister.

He said that the initiative had faced criticism at the time but was now helping young people gain access to modern technology and education.

The prime minister also announced that Daanish University in Islamabad is expected to be established next year. The classes are also likely to begin in the same year.

He said that the university would focus on technical and modern sciences, and admissions would be based strictly on merit, regardless of students’ financial backgrounds.
