Mayor Karachi, Murtaza Wahab, said during the press conference on Monday that all the culprits in the Mir Raza murder case should be punished. He said that satisfying Mir Raza’s parents should be the government’s priority.
Murtaza Wahab confirmed that the judicial commission will complete its report in 30 days. He also said that if the investigation was not on merit, then it should also be exposed.
It is pertinent to mention that Mir Raza’s family has opposed the constitution of the judicial commission, as they have already filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC) through their lawyer, Jibran Nasir.
He further stated that if the investigation was reckless, then the government will take action against those responsible.
He told journalists that Mir Raza’s lawyer wrote a letter to Chief Minister (CM) Sindh Murad Ali Shah on August 19. He confirmed that CM Sindh responded to the letter on August 21.
Murtaza Wahab concluded that the government will try its best to solve the Mir Raza murder case as soon as possible.

Earlier, Sindh Inspector General of Police (IGP) Javed Alam Odho claimed that investigators have fully traced the Mir Raza death case and said the facts will be made public in the coming days.
Speaking to the media, the Sindh police chief addressed questions regarding comments made by a medico-legal officer, saying the case had become somewhat confusing due to remarks from an official not directly connected to the investigation.
He said the medico-legal documents contained one set of findings, while different statements were being made verbally, creating unnecessary confusion about the case.
Javed Alam Odho said medical experts would now determine the final medical opinion. He added that the police had no objection if a medical board was constituted to ensure complete transparency.
