According to the notification, Aslam Ghauri has been suspended initially for 120 days under Rule 5 of the Civil Servants (Performance and Discipline) Rules, 2020.

Health Secretary Aslam Ghauri has been suspended and removed from office by the Prime Minister, according to an official notification. The notification states that Housing Secretary Captain (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood has been given the additional charge of Health Secretary.

Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif removed Federal Health Secretary Aslam Ghauri from his post following the tragic deaths of 14 newborns in a fire at the PIMS Hospital nursery. The Prime Minister ordered the immediate suspension and removal of Federal Health Secretary Aslam Ghauri and directed Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal to reach Islamabad immediately.
