Tom Holland’s new Spider-Man: Brand New Day has crossed $2.3 billion at the global box office, making it one of the highest-grossing movies in history.
The movie has now become the fourth highest-grossing film of all time, overtaking Titanic and ranking behind the Avatar films and Avengers: Endgame.
Since its July 31 release, the film has broken multiple box-office records. It initially made headlines by surpassing the record previously held by Avengers: Endgame for the highest domestic opening of all time.
If Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues its successful run, it could climb into the top three highest-grossing films in history.
In the movie, Peter Parker tries to navigate fighting crime full-time in New York while dealing with the deep loneliness of his old friends moving on without him. He experiences strange, amplified physical changes and faces a dangerous new threat that operates invisibly.
Tom Holland as Spider-Man
The movie is Holland’s fourth solo Spider-Man movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which was directed by Destin Daniel Cretton with Tom Holland as Peter Parker, alongside Zendaya, Jon Bernthal, and Sadie Sink.
Holland is commercially the most successful Spider-Man actor in history; he is also the highest-grossing male actor of all time globally, with career box-office earnings of approximately $15.20 billion.
