The Embassy of Italy in Islamabad has issued an urgent warning to visa applicants after noticing an unprecedented increase in the submission of dubious and forged documents with study visa applications.
The embassy has advised students applying for study visas to strictly avoid submitting fake or forged documents, particularly those related to their means of subsistence.
According to the embassy, submitting forged documents can result in the immediate rejection of the visa application.
The embassy further warned that the use of fraudulent documents could also negatively affect applicants’ future visa applications.

The embassy advised applicants to ensure that all documents submitted with their visa applications are genuine, accurate and verifiable.
Students seeking to study in Italy should therefore carefully review their financial and other supporting documents before submitting their applications to avoid visa rejection and potential problems with future applications.
How to book an Italy visa appointment in Pakistan
Applicants must register through the official Intiana Italy Visa Application Centre portal and join the waiting list. Once their turn arrives, the visa application centre sends the appointment date and time directly to the applicant’s registered email address.
Applicants are advised not to purchase appointments from agents, as the system is time-stamped and appointments are allocated only through the official waiting list.
Important information for August 2026 applicants
Those planning to travel to Italy should submit their visa applications at least 30 days before their intended departure date to allow sufficient processing time.
Student visa applicants can only receive an appointment after their pre-enrolment has been validated on the Universitaly portal. Appointment allocation is based on the university validation date.
In addition, Pakistani-issued documents must be apostilled, while all supporting documents should either be in English or officially translated into Italian and notarised before submission.
Applicants who wish to submit their applications at the Lahore or Faisalabad Visa Application Centre, where available, may request a change before their scheduled appointment, subject to operational availability.
