BCCI meeting to decide ODI futures of Rohit, Kohli, and Jadeja

The futures of former India captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, along with veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja, are expected to come under discussion at an upcoming BCCI meeting. The meeting is also likely to focus on India’s preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup, with key decisions expected regarding the team’s future composition and planning.

According to Indian media reports, a member of the selection committee had informed Rohit Sharma that the selectors had decided not to include him in the upcoming Indian squad. Rohit was reportedly unhappy with the decision, although there were claims that he had agreed to retire after the ODI series against England. However, following Rohit’s brilliant 138-run innings in the final ODI at Lord’s, speculation over his immediate retirement has eased.

Indian media reports suggest that, compared with Rohit, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja are currently under less pressure to retire or lose their places in the national team. The upcoming BCCI meeting is expected to address the futures of all three senior players, while also focusing on India’s squad, strategy and preparations for the 2027 ODI World Cup.
