The weather in Kaghan Valley has taken a chilly turn after the area received its first snowfall of the season.

Temperatures across the valley have also dropped sharply, prompting residents to bring out their sweaters.

Babusar Top, also known as Babusar Pass, has received its first snowfall of the season. Located at an altitude of 4,173 metres at the northern end of Kaghan Valley in Mansehra District, Babusar Pass connects Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Gilgit-Baltistan and links the Kaghan Valley with Chilas in Diamer District.

The early snowfall has surprised locals, who say such weather has increasingly shifted towards November in recent years.

Babusar Top is one of the rare spots where visitors can clearly catch a direct view of the majestic Nanga Parbat and towering Malika Parbat peaks.

Snow and rain have also been reported in several other areas, including Mansehra, Torghar, Kolai-Palas, Upper Kohistan and Lower Kohistan. High-altitude locations like Kalam, Swat, and Babusar Top have recorded early seasonal snowfall and dropping temperatures
