The last date for deserving women registered with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to obtain a free SIM has reportedly been set for September 10, 2026. The initiative aims to activate the Social Protection Wallet for eligible women and make future financial assistance payments more transparent, secure and efficient. According to BISP, free SIMs are being issued only through designated BISP centres, while the activation of the digital wallet is carried out by trained BISP staff.
How to get free SIM
Eligible women are required to take their original Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC) and mobile phone to the nearest BISP Tehsil Office or designated centre. After completing the verification process, they will be issued a free SIM. BISP has clarified that applicants should not pay any money to anyone for the SIM, as the service is completely free.
The Social Protection Wallet is being introduced to make the distribution of financial assistance more secure and transparent. BISP says that, in the future, messages regarding financial assistance and payments will be linked to the digital wallet. Eligible women are therefore advised to visit their respective BISP centres and obtain their free SIM before the September 10, 2026 deadline. Officials have warned that the quarterly instalment under the Benazir Kafalat Programme will not be transferred to the accounts of deserving women who have not yet obtained their free Benazir SIM. All eligible women have been urged to visit their nearest BISP office as soon as possible to obtain the free SIM and ensure the uninterrupted and transparent disbursement of their quarterly payments.
Officials said the process is being carried out under the principle of “Get SIM, Get Money.” Beneficiaries are therefore advised to complete the verification and collection process for the SIM linked to their mobile device at the earliest.
