Web desk: A parked car caught fire in front of government offices in Sector F-6 on Thursday, leaving the vehicle completely destroyed.

Rescue teams arrived quickly and managed to extinguish the blaze before it could spread.

Acid-Filled Tanker Leaks in Islamabad’s G-12

Separately, panic spread in Islamabad’s G-12 sector after a tanker carrying acid began leaking, releasing a strong and unpleasant smell across the area.

Residents were alarmed and confused. Some stepped outside to check the situation, while others stayed indoors and closed their doors and windows.

Rescue teams arrived quickly to contain the leak. Acid is highly dangerous and can ignite if it reacts with other materials, so officials worked fast to prevent any fire and advised people to stay away.

Islamabad Police said a team from Sumbal Police Station also reached the scene.

They cordoned off the area, kept residents at a safe distance, and began investigating the cause of the leak.

Officials noted that an acid warehouse already existed in the area, raising concerns among residents about storing hazardous chemicals near homes.

During the initial investigation, police arrested four individuals for allegedly violating safety rules related to storing and handling acid. The inquiry is ongoing.

Residents of G-12 demanded strict action, saying dangerous chemicals should not be kept in residential areas without proper safety measures.

Many families stayed outside for hours, fearing the situation could worsen. Rescue teams later confirmed that the situation was under control.
