Web desk: Field Marshal Asim Munir, during an informal conversation with journalists at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, expressed confidence in Pakistan’s progress.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, while talking to journalists informally at the Aiwan-e-Sadr, said that things are moving towards improvement.

Everything is fine, everything is in front of you, he said.

Pakistan will now fly higher from here, the Field Marshal said, further adding that Pakistan has to move forward because of its excellent policies.

Separately, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has approved the summary for appointing Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir as the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces. And he has also forwarded it to the Presidency, according to the PM House Spokesperson.

He will serve as both the Chief of Army Staff and the Chief of Defence Forces.

The appointment is for a period of five years. He will be the country’s first Chief of Defence Forces.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has also approved a two-year extension in the tenure of the Chief of Air Staff, Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu.

This extension will take effect after he completes his current five-year term in March 2026.

Previously, a fake notification regarding Field Marshal Asim Munir‘s assumption of office as the Chief of Defence Forces had been circulating on social media.

Authorities confirmed that the document is digitally forged and completely fabricated.

Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, while holding a press conference with Information Minister Atta Tarar, said that do not worry at all, the original notification is coming soon.

He said that the government works according to its framework, and there is no such big news today. He further added that all matters are as usual.
