Wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan responded to the summons from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) through post, asking for the reasons for his summons and seeking clarity regarding the proceedings against him, sources said.
In his written reply, Rizwan has asked the agency several questions, such as why he was called and what the subject of the investigation was, sources said.
Rizwan sought clarifications about the details of the investigation.
The cricketer wanted to know the reason behind the summons and the basis of his being summoned before the NCCIA, sources said.
Rizwan also asked that his cell phone be returned. The device was said to be taken by the police during the proceedings, and the batsman has now asked for an explanation.
Sources also said that Rizwan had requested the agency to tell him what he is accused of, or the specific violation he had committed.
Some of the questions he asked in his reply were: “Why did you call me?” and “Why is my mobile phone not returned yet?”

The Pakistan cricketer also wanted information on the charges being considered by the agency and what the agency would like to investigate by launching an inquiry.
Sources stated that Rizwan is seeking clarity in the matter and would like to know the nature of the proceedings and the allegations against him before taking its next step.
His reply came in the form of a letter. The development comes as the agency has been investigating the cricketer. More information on the case has not been released yet.
The NCCIA has yet to reveal any violation that was committed by Rizwan and the agency’s answer to the question posed by the cricketer has yet to be delivered.
Sources indicated that the subject is being investigated, and more details could be expected once the agency responds to Rizwan’s written submission.
