Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s son Kasim Khan has called for his aunt Aleema Khan’s release after she was arrested in Lahore.
In a post on X, Kasim said, “Today, my aunt, Aleema Khan, has been abducted by police in Lahore. Our family has been told nothing about where she has been taken. Her family and lawyers cannot reach her. This is the behaviour of a fascist government – abducting people, terrorising families, and trampling human rights, due process, and the rule of law while pretending to stand for democracy. First, they imprisoned my father. Now they are coming after his family.”
He demanded “immediate access to her for her family and lawyers, full disclosure of where she is being held, and her immediate release.”

Aleema Khan’s son, Shershah Khan, has claimed that his family still “has no information about where she is being held”.
“Leaving her family in the dark about her whereabouts is indefensible. If cowardice had a face, this politico-military government would be it”, he added.

Office of Lahore’s Deputy Commissioner (DC) ordered her detention for 30 days.
DC Muhammad Ali Ijaz had ordered the detention or arrest of Aleema and a man named Muhammad Ameer under the Punjab Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance, 1960 (MPO).
“Their custody shall be placed under the superintendent, Central Jail, Kot Lakhpat, Lahore. They shall be at liberty to make a representation to the provincial government against this order,” the document read.
The arrests have taken place ahead of a PTI protest.
