Lahore and Islamabad are expected to experience hot and dry weather today, while Karachi remains in the grip of intense heat, with temperatures likely to reach 40°C and the heat index potentially rising to 47°C.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, there is no chance of rain in Lahore today, where the weather is expected to remain hot and dry. The temperature in the city has been recorded at 31°C, while the maximum temperature is expected to reach 35°C and the minimum 25°C.
Humidity in Lahore has been recorded at 65 per cent, with winds blowing at a speed of 3 kilometres per hour.
Islamabad is also experiencing hot and dry weather. The current temperature in the federal capital has been recorded at 23°C, while temperatures are expected to rise to 34°C during the day.
The temperature in Islamabad is one degree lower than the previous day. Winds are expected to blow at around 7 kilometres per hour throughout the day, while humidity has been recorded at more than 59 per cent.
According to the Meteorological Department, partly cloudy conditions are expected in Kashmir, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan, with rain likely at some locations.
Meanwhile, Karachi continues to experience intense heat, with temperatures expected to reach 40°C today. The city recorded a maximum temperature of 40.7°C on the previous day.
The Met Office said heatwave-like conditions are expected to persist in Karachi until tomorrow. During the daytime, intense sunshine is likely to push the perceived temperature to between 45°C and 47°C.
The absence of sea breezes has resulted in continued humid conditions in Karachi. The weather is expected to remain hot and humid over the next 24 hours.
The current temperature in Karachi is 28°C, while the heat index is being felt at 32°C. Humidity in the city has been recorded at 65 per cent.
