The Islamabad Model Jail project, which has remained pending for the past 15 years, has entered its final stage of completion, with the government deciding to inaugurate the facility next month.
A high-level meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry reviewed the ongoing work and progress on the Islamabad Model Jail project in detail.
During the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi directed the authorities to complete all remaining work as soon as possible. He stressed that all construction, administrative and other essential arrangements must be completed before the inauguration.
The interior minister said all necessary measures should be taken in a timely manner to ensure completion of the model jail and there should be no unnecessary delays at any level.
Naqvi said there was no room for any further delay in completing the project, which had remained pending for 15 years. He directed all relevant departments to coordinate closely and ensure that the project is completed within the timeline.
The meeting also reviewed the remaining construction work, administrative arrangements and preparations for the inauguration of the model jail.
Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry briefed the meeting on the progress of the project and said work on the facility was being continuously monitored.
He said he was personally overseeing the completion process and had been visiting the model jail every week to review progress.
Talal Chaudhry said the project would be completed within the stipulated timeframe in coordination with all relevant departments.
