Information Minister Atta Tarar said Pakistan carried out precise aerial and drone strikes against terrorist hideouts and support infrastructure at 10 locations in areas under the control of the Afghan Taliban regime.
In a statement posted on X, Tarar said the strikes comprehensively destroyed terrorist infrastructure, including drone launching and storage sites.
According to the minister, the targeted locations were linked to terrorist attacks inside Pakistan against unarmed civilians and the recently foiled drone intrusion allegedly carried out by the Afghan Taliban regime on September 23.
Tarar said the strikes were conducted through precise aerial and drone operations, sharing footage of the operation with his statement.
He added that Pakistan would continue to defend its territorial integrity and protect the lives and property of its citizens against what he described as externally sponsored, sheltered and abetted threats posed by terrorist proxies.

Yesterday, Pakistan’s air defence systems successfully intercepted and brought down eight drones launched towards Pakistani territory from Afghanistan, foiling an attempted attack on civilian areas, security sources said on Wednesday.
According to security sources, the drones entered Pakistani airspace in the morning and were swiftly detected and neutralised by the alert and highly capable air defence systems of the Pakistan Armed Forces.
The sources said Pakistan Air Force and Army personnel acted promptly to prevent the drones from reaching their intended targets, protecting civilian populations and strategic areas from the aerial threat.
Four drones shot down near Kohat, four near Torkham
According to security sources, four drones were brought down in mountainous areas on the outskirts of Kohat, while another four were intercepted and destroyed in the heights along the Torkham border area.
The successful interception demonstrated the readiness of Pakistan’s air defence network and the vigilance of the country’s armed forces in protecting its airspace and territorial integrity.
Security sources described the attempted drone intrusion as a serious provocation and said the armed forces remain fully prepared to respond to any threat against Pakistan.
Pakistan responds to Afghan firing in Kurram
The latest incident came after Pakistani security forces responded to unprovoked firing from Afghan Taliban positions in the Kurram sector.
According to security sources, Pakistan’s armed forces targeted and destroyed multiple Afghan Taliban posts after the firing.
The response underscored Pakistan’s stated position that any attack or cross-border aggression threatening its territory and people will be met with an effective response.
Pakistan armed forces remain vigilant
The attempted drone attack comes amid continued security concerns along Pakistan’s western border and allegations by Pakistani authorities regarding support provided from Afghan territory to terrorists operating against Pakistan.
Security sources said the latest incident further highlighted the need for constant vigilance along the border.
Pakistan’s armed forces remain on high alert and are prepared to defend every inch of the country’s territory. The successful downing of all eight drones also demonstrated the effectiveness of Pakistan’s air defence capabilities in countering aerial threats, according to security sources.
