Bollywood actress Nushratt Bharuccha has been hospitalised in Bali after suffering a serious injury in a car accident during a work-cum-holiday trip.
According to a statement issued by her team, Nushratt Bharuccha suffered a fracture in her spine in the accident. She is currently under medical observation at a hospital in Bali.
Doctors are conducting further evaluations before proceeding with her spine surgery. Her team is also making arrangements for an air ambulance to bring Nushratt Bharuccha back to Mumbai, where she is expected to undergo the surgery.
The actress had travelled to Bali for a work-cum-holiday trip when the accident occurred.
In an official statement, Nushratt Bharuccha’s team said she “met with an unfortunate accident and suffered a fracture in her spine.”
The team added that she remains hospitalised in Bali and will undergo spine surgery following further medical evaluation.
In a separate incident, earlier, a 28-year-old Pakistani biker and TikToker, Komal Jan, died after drowning in the Soan River near DHA Phase-I in Rawalpindi, police said on Thursday.
According to police, an emergency call was received reporting that a woman had fallen into the river near a bridge. Four Rescue 1122 emergency vehicles reached the site, and rescue teams launched a search operation to locate the missing woman.
After several hours of searching, rescuers recovered the woman’s body from the river. Police later identified her as Komal Jan.
Police said Komal’s motorcycle was found parked near the river, with her handbag, helmet and one of her mobile phones placed on it.
Sources said Komal was an employee of the Election Commission of Pakistan and was passionate about heavy-bike riding. She also regularly created and uploaded videos on social media.
According to police, the investigation indicated that Komal fell into the Soan River while reportedly recording a TikTok video. Two mobile phones were recovered during the investigation. One was found inside her handbag on the motorcycle, while the other was reportedly being used to record the video at the time of the incident.
