US Democratic Senator Chris Murphy has opposed further military confrontation with Iran, stressing the need to prioritise a diplomatic agreement.

Following an important visit to the Middle East, Senator Chris Murphy expressed his views on the social media platform X. He said that Washington should focus on diplomacy instead of war with Iran.

Important Meeting in Qatar

Chris Murphy referred to a lengthy conversation held in Qatar with Ali Al-Thawadi, the coordinator of US and Iranian diplomacy.

According to the US senator, despite the current tense situation, a new and comprehensive diplomatic agreement with Iran is still possible. He described diplomatic contacts as an important means of reducing the conflict.

Murphy said that differences exist between the two sides. However, there is still room to resolve these differences through negotiations.

Opposition to Military Action

The Democratic senator made it clear that the US should not move towards another military strike or military action.

He said that a diplomatic agreement should be given the highest priority. Chris Murphy maintained that the use of force could further complicate problems rather than solve them.

He described negotiations and diplomatic contacts as important for future relations with Iran. His statement comes at a time when tensions in the Middle East continue to persist.

Lessons from the Past

Chris Murphy also criticised the ongoing tensions in the region and failed peace efforts in the past. According to him, choosing the path of mutual dialogue is more practical than increasing hostility again.

He said that efforts for peace through diplomacy are an important need in the current circumstances.
