Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi accompanied by local leaders and party workers, crossed Lachi Bazaar at around 6pm and reached within approximately 1.5 kilometres of the rally venue at the Lachi Football Ground, according to sources. Around 2,000 to 2,200 workers are currently accompanying the convoy, sources said.
The participants are expected to stay at the Lachi Football Ground, while the chief minister will stay at Aftab Alam’s hujra on Doda Road in Kohat due to security concerns. The PTI long march convoy, which started from Lakki Marwat and passed through Karak, has entered Kohat under the leadership of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi.
The convoy will halt in Kohat today, while the long march is scheduled to resume its journey towards Peshawar after 12pm tomorrow. The convoy’s arrival in Kohat marks the latest stage of the PTI’s planned long march towards the provincial capital.
Due to security concerns, Chief Minister Sohail Afridi will stay at Aftab Alam’s hujra on Doda Road in Kohat. Arrangements have been made at Lachi Football Ground to accommodate the long march participants, while a separate location has been designated for the chief minister’s stay in view of security considerations.
