Pakistani YouTuber Rajab Butt and his wife Emaan Fatima’s marital dispute has taken another turn. Emaan reportedly approaching a family court to seek financial support for herself and their son.
According to reports, Emaan has filed a maintenance case against Rajab. She is seeking financial assistance for herself and their son, Kivan Sultan.
Their personal dispute has repeatedly attracted attention on social media, where both sides and people close to them have previously spoken about the matter.
Rajab and Emaan married in 2024, and videos and pictures from their wedding celebrations went viral online. They later welcomed their son, Kivan Sultan, in September 2025.
Divorce notice and reconciliation rumours
Earlier this year, Rajab publicly said that he wanted to end the marriage. Reports later emerged that he had sent Emaan a divorce notice. Emaan also shared an image of the papers on social media and spoke about the impact of the dispute on herself and her son.
However, the situation became less clear after Rajab attended his son’s birthday celebrations. His appearance led some social media users to believe that the couple might be moving towards reconciliation.
Rajab later rejected reconciliation claims. He maintained that the divorce was final, during a TikTok Live session. He also said he would continue to fulfil his responsibilities towards his son.
According to Emaan’s lawyers, however, the divorce notice was not registered with the relevant authority. They maintain that the couple is therefore still legally married. This position is now being cited in connection with Emaan’s maintenance case.
Legal dispute reaches family court
The reported maintenance case brings the couple’s dispute into a new legal phase. The family court will now deal with Emaan’s request for financial support for herself and her son.
In recent months, Emaan said she had received notices concerning defamation and the custody of their son. Her lawyer also confirmed receiving another defamation notice in September and said a formal response had been submitted.
The couple’s personal life has remained under intense online attention because of Rajab’s large social media following.
However, the family court proceedings are expected to determine the issues, while conflicting public claims about their marital status remain part of the wider dispute.
