Unannounced load shedding has continued in several cities across Punjab, with power outages being reported even during daytime hours, causing disruption for domestic consumers and businesses.

In Rawalpindi, several areas are experiencing up to four hours of unannounced load shedding. The shortfall in the national grid has exceeded 4,500 megawatts, with the suspension of imported LNG supplies and reduced water releases from dams being cited as major reasons for the power shortage.

In Lahore, unannounced power cuts have also hit commercial areas, including Gulberg, Cavalry, Model Town, Baghbanpura, Tajpura and parts of the inner city. Electricity is reportedly being suspended for up to five hours during business hours, affecting commercial activities.

Unannounced load shedding has also been reported in Sheikhupura and Kasur within the LESCO region.

Lahore residents have complained about prolonged power outages, with electricity remaining unavailable for two to three hours during the day and three to four hours at night.

Factory owners said frequent power cuts are affecting industrial operations, with some being forced to shut down their factories due to the continued outages.

In Faisalabad, the duration of load shedding has reached up to six hours.

Meanwhile, urban areas of Multan are experiencing four to six hours of load shedding, while outages in rural areas have reached six to eight hours.

The prolonged power cuts are affecting both domestic and commercial consumers in Multan, adding to difficulties for households and businesses.
