The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has outlined the validity periods, eligibility criteria, fee-based processing categories and delivery timelines for various identity documents, including B-Forms, juvenile cards, national identity cards and certificates.
The processing time varies depending on the type of document and the service selected, with normal, urgent and executive options available for several categories.
B-form
Parents or legal guardians can obtain a B-Form for children under 18 years of age. Its validity is divided into three stages: three years for the first stage, 10 years for the second and until the age of 18 for the third. The document is delivered within seven days under the normal service and one day under the executive service. The urgent service is not available for B-Forms.
Juvenile card
The juvenile card is issued to children under 18 years of age, with its validity period corresponding to the applicable B-Form requirements. The delivery time is 31 days under the normal service, 23 days under the urgent service and nine days under the executive service.
National identity card and smart national identity card
Individuals aged 18 and above are eligible to obtain a national identity card or a Smart National Identity Card. Both have a validity period of 10 years, while lifetime validity applies to eligible cardholders aged 60 and above.
A standard national identity card is delivered within 15 days under the normal service, 12 days under the urgent service and six days under the executive service.
For a Smart National Identity Card, the delivery timelines are 31 days for normal processing, 23 days for urgent processing and nine days for executive processing.
National Identity Card for Overseas Pakistanis (NICOP)
The NICOP is issued to Pakistani citizens residing abroad. It has a validity period of 10 years, with delivery timelines of 31 days under the normal service, 23 days under the urgent service and nine days under the executive service.
Pakistan Origin Card (POC)
The Pakistan Origin Card is issued to eligible foreign nationals of Pakistani origin. Its validity ranges from five to seven years, while delivery takes 31 days under the normal service, 23 days under the urgent service and nine days under the executive service.
Family Registration Certificate (FRC)
The Family Registration Certificate provides details of a registered family. According to the provided schedule, an eligible family member aged 18 or above can apply for the certificate, which is issued within 24 hours under the urgent service.
Cancellation Certificate
A cancellation certificate for a deceased person’s identity record can be requested by eligible blood relatives. The document is issued within two days under the normal service. Applicants are advised to confirm the applicable fees, eligibility requirements and latest processing timelines through NADRA’s official channels before submitting their applications.
