Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to field first against Pakistan in the second T20I of the three-match series at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Sri Lankan captain Kusal Mendis invited Pakistan to bat after winning the toss and announced three changes to his side for the match.

Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan said his team had made one change, bringing Salman Mirza into the playing XI in place of Razaullah.
