The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned the former chairman of the Sehat Sahulat Card programme in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over alleged corruption worth billions of rupees involving the manipulation of health data.
According to the allegations, irregularities in the government-funded health insurance programme may have caused significant financial losses to the national exchequer.
NAB has sought the former chairman’s appearance to question him about the alleged manipulation of healthcare records and suspected financial misconduct linked to the programme.
The Sehat Sahulat Card programme provides eligible citizens with access to medical treatment at designated hospitals, aiming to reduce healthcare costs for families, particularly those unable to afford expensive medical services.
The former chairman’s response to the allegations was not immediately available. The allegations remain unproven, and any responsibility for the suspected wrongdoing will be determined through the legal process.
