The Sindh government has announced a major crackdown on traffic violations, warning that strict legal action will be taken against motorists who fail to comply with traffic regulations.
According to details, Sindh Senior Minister for Information Sharjeel Inam Memon announced that the provincial government is preparing to strictly enforce traffic laws across the city.
Speaking to the media, Sharjeel Memon said vehicles equipped with illegal hooters, police lights, or fancy number plates would face strict legal action without discrimination.
The provincial minister made it clear that individuals misusing their official positions or influence would no longer receive special treatment.
He emphasised that government employees and press card holders would also face action if found violating traffic regulations.
Sharjeel Memon said that people often blame governments for traffic-related problems, even though the government does not instruct anyone to violate traffic signals or disregard road safety rules.
Strict warning against underage and unlicensed driving
The minister also reiterated the government’s strict stance against underage driving, warning parents against allowing their children to operate vehicles without valid driving licences.
He stated that parents bear responsibility when they allow unlicensed individuals to drive.
Sharjeel Memon further warned that if an unlicensed driver causes a fatal accident, the incident could be treated as murder.
No leniency for one-way traffic violations
The Sindh information minister also issued a strong warning to motorists who violate one-way traffic regulations.
He said that individuals driving against the designated traffic direction would not be granted any leniency.
According to the minister, strict enforcement measures will be implemented wherever traffic violations are reported.
He reiterated that the government is determined to ensure equal enforcement of traffic laws, regardless of a person’s profession, official position, or social influence.
The announcement reflects the provincial government’s plans to strengthen road safety measures and discourage dangerous driving practices across Sindh.
