Web desk: Bangladesh has been chosen to host the Asia Cup in 2027, according to sources.
The move was reportedly finalised during a meeting of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in Dubai, which took place shortly after the successful conclusion of the recent tournament.
Sources said that representatives from all member countries took part in the meeting, except India.

This marked India’s ninth Asia Cup title and their successful defence of the trophy they won in 2023.

Abhishek Sharma was named Player of the Series after finishing as the top run scorer, while Kuldeep Yadav took the most wickets.
The final was especially significant as it was the first-ever Asia Cup title clash between India and Pakistan, with India chasing down Pakistan’s 146 in a tense finish.
India’s captain faces criticism for mixing politics with cricket
Despite winning the Asia Cup 2025, the Indian team continued to face criticism for politicising the game.
Captain Suryakumar Yadav appeared unsettled when asked about his behaviour during the tournament, particularly towards Pakistan.
In the post-final press conference, a journalist questioned Yadav over his conduct, pointing out that he had avoided handshakes with Pakistani players, skipped the joint photo session with the trophy, and even held a politically charged press briefing earlier in the event.
The reporter remarked that he had become the first captain to drag politics so openly into the sport.
Rather than giving a direct response, Yadav appeared flustered, accusing the journalist of being angry and claiming he did not fully understand the question, before moving away from the matter.
Their decision not to accept the trophy from ACC President Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi was also described as inappropriate by some members.
