Heavy Fog triggers the closure of the Motorway

ISLAMABAD: Heavy fog has canceled major closures on motorways in Pakistan. Governments closed some of the major areas in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

This will ensure the safety of the masses is not endangered by very low visibility. The fog was very dense and had a lot of road traffic and life.

In most areas, the visibility became dangerously low.

As a result, the M-1 from Peshawar to Rashakai is closed. The Lahore to Kot Momin M-2 motorway was closed by the officials.

Moreover, the M-3 from Faizpur to Darkhana is non-accessible. The M-5 Multan to Zahir Pir was also shut. The M-11, the Lahore-Sialkot Motorway, was disrupted. Traffic was diverted on alternative routes.

The Motorway Police representative made another advisory. They encouraged motorists to stay at home instead of commuting.

Besides, it is crucial to use entirely safe fog lights. Accidents risk is high in the case of speeding.

Drivers are supposed to maintain a much larger distance between them. The aim of the closures was pointed out by the police spokesperson.

They seek to avoid severe road accidents. As such, the police asked motorists to utilize the Grand Trunk Road. This path is the most ideal alternative.
