Pakistani students to study AI in Europe, says PM

Web desk: PM announced that laptops will be distributed across KP as part of efforts to support education, while addressing the Prime Minister’s Youth Laptop Scheme (PMYLS) event.

PM Shehbaz stated that over 600,000 laptops were distributed strictly on merit.

He further announced that students from all provinces will be sent abroad for education.

He said youth from all provinces will be selected on merit and trained in modern agriculture.

Referring to young people as the heroes and builders of the nation, he emphasised that Pakistan’s progress depends on its youth.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced that students from across the country will be sent to Europe to receive an education in artificial intelligence (AI).

He described talented students as a valuable national asset and the architects of the country’s future.

He added that education, skills, and technology are essential for ensuring a bright future for the youth.

Prime Minister Sharif revealed that students selected on merit have already been sent abroad for advanced training so that they can contribute effectively to the nation.

He announced that, under a merit-based system, students will be sent to Europe to study AI, although the exact procedure for this initiative has yet to be detailed.

600 students sent to China

Recalling his tenure as Punjab chief minister, PM Shehbaz highlighted that 600 students were previously sent to China to learn the Chinese language.

He stressed that Pakistan will move forward only when all four provinces develop together and underscored that unity, hard work, and brotherhood are key to national progress.

During the event, the Prime Minister briefly faced a microphone issue after being accidentally hit, for which he apologised.

Highlighting the importance of modern education, he announced the establishment of a Danish School in Haripur based on the Punjab model, with separate schools for boys and girls and a dedicated campus for women.

He also announced the construction of a bridge in Haripur to improve local infrastructure.

The Prime Minister concluded by urging the youth to embrace challenges and contribute to the nation’s growth, noting that Pakistan is now stable at the macroeconomic level and ready to move towards development.

‘An unforgettable lesson’

He also reflected on the Marka e Haq, stating that Pakistan’s armed forces taught India a lesson it will never forget.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), calling them brave and honourable for their sacrifices on the frontline in the fight against terrorism.

He said the nation will always remember their courage. He added that peace and stability in the country were achieved due to the bravery of both the people and the armed forces.

Adding, he said Allah accepted the prayers of the nation and granted Pakistan victory and honour on May 10.

He added that the bravery of the armed forces will always be remembered by history and that Pakistan earned respect, which continues today.
