DHAKA: The ongoing protest in Bangladesh against the death of the youth party leader Shareef Osman Hadi has gained hype.
Protesters have burned the offices of most leading newspapers Daily Star and the Daily Prothom Alo.
Bangladesh’s Gen Z is in action, protesting against India for backing the killers of Osman Hadi.
Killer Hasina
Many demonstrators alleged Indian interference in Bangladesh’s internal affairs, claiming Hadi’s assassination was proof of external meddling to protect Hasina, who has been living in exile in India since fleeing in August 2024.
Protesters demanded the immediate extradition of the “killer Hasina” to face trial in Bangladesh, where she has been convicted in absentia on various charges. Some groups vowed to intensify pressure until suspects allegedly fleeing to India are returned.
Shareef Osman Hadi
Hadi, a prominent leader in the Inqilab Moncho group, was shot in the head by a masked man in Dhaka recently.
He had been fighting for his life in Singapore Hospital, where, after great suffering, he passed away.
In the response, Gen Z youth are on the streets right now, protesting against India for safeguarding the terrorists behind this incident.
The angry youth have also set the house of Sheikh Mujeeb-ur-Rehman on fire.
By strongly condemning the Indian agenda, students and senior leaders claimed that the attackers are linked to the former Government.
A huge gathering occurred in Shahbagh Square in Dhaka, demanding justice and uttering anti-India slogans.
Furthermore, the interim Government has summoned the Indian Ambassador and has issued an immediate notice for the inquiry. They demanded that India should strictly check its borders and arrest the suspects.
