ANF stops major drug smuggling in Balochistan

KECH: The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) conducted a major operation to stop a drug trafficking attempt in Balochistan.

The operation was carried out by the ANF Police Station Turbat recently, near Khalil Abad, close to Satellite Town, in District Kech.

During the action, ANF officials stopped an unregistered Zamyad vehicle travelling from Panjgur to Turbat. As a result, one suspect was arrested at the scene without resistance.

Details of the Drugs Seized

Officers conducted a detailed search of the vehicle. Consequently, a large quantity of narcotics was recovered from hidden compartments.
The total weight of the seized drugs was 222 kilograms.
These included 99 kilograms of methamphetamine, commonly known as ice.
In addition, 50 kilograms of opium were recovered.
Moreover, 73 kilograms of hashish were also seized.

Drugs Worth

According to officials, the total international value of the drugs is estimated at 54 million US dollars.
The domestic value of the methamphetamine is over PKR 25.7 million.


Meanwhile, its international value exceeds USD 26 million. Furthermore, the opium is valued at USD 24.7 million internationally.


The hashish carries an international value exceeding USD four million. Authorities believe the drugs were intended for organised trafficking networks.


Investigations are now underway to identify other individuals involved.
