RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Syed Asim Munir said Pakistan faces wide-ranging and persistent challenges.
He said these challenges demand comprehensive multi-domain preparedness and close national coordination.
The Field Marshal made the remarks during a visit to National Defence University on Thursday.
At NDU, he was briefed by civil and military participants of the National Security and War Course with focus on national security challenges and ways to address them.
During interaction, the army chief outlined the evolving global, regional and internal security situation.
He said threats now span conventional, sub-conventional, intelligence, cyber, information, military and economic domains.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations, he stressed continuous adaptation and unity of national power.
He noted hostile elements prefer indirect and ambiguous methods over open confrontation including use of proxies to exploit internal weaknesses.
The Field Marshal said future leaders must stay alert to detect and counter such layered threats.
He highlighted the importance of clear decision-making under uncertainty.
Intellectual resilience, he said, is vital in today’s contested security environment.
He praised NDU’s role in developing strategic thinkers and informed policymakers.
Professional military education, he added, remains key to long-term national resilience.
Concluding his address, he appreciated the participants’ analysis and urged them to uphold integrity, discipline and selfless service.
