Leopard spotted at Islamic University Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: A leopard was sighted in the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) on Wednesday.

Authorities have confirmed the presence of the leopard on the campus.

According to the spokesperson of the University, a leopard was sighted in the bushes inside the University and created panic among the students and the staff.

A spokesperson for the International Islamic University said that a leopard was seen in the bushes inside the International Islamic University, and panic spread among the students of the university.

The University administration decided to immediately close all units of the campus.

 Security staff summoned wildlife and police personnel, stating that all units would remain closed until it is caught.

The officials said that the Islamabad Wildlife team reached the International Islamic University.

The searching team obtained evidence of the presence of the animal during the search operation.

However, as a precautionary measure, search patrols and trappers have been set at various points in the University.

The spokesperson appealed to the citizens to avoid rumours, remain calm, and cooperate with the administration.

Leopard at Islamabad Airport

It is not the first time that a leopard has been spotted in the area of Islamabad.

A similar case was observed at Islamabad Airport in October, where a wild leopard was spotted near the airport’s surroundings.

According to the viral videos, the animal could be seen roaming around the cargo area of the airport.

While search teams were deployed immediately to recover the leopard.
