MURREE: Murree police have announced a detailed traffic plan for New Year’s night to provide ease to the tourists.
As per details, the Murree police have cancelled the leaves of all the traffic wardens and other senior officials of the traffic department.

To control the traffic and to make sure that traffic rules are not violated, special squads of traffic wardens and officers have been formed.
The infamous Murre Mall Road will remain completely closed for all types of traffic. The police will take strict action against underage drivers, motorcycle riders without helmets, and vehicles with no number plates.
Murree Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Imran Razaq said that “there will be a complete ban on motorcyclists, and strict action will be taken against one-wheeling and motorcyclists without silencers in Murree.”
He stated that “strict action will also be taken against vehicles with black windows or coloured papers to prevent any untoward incident. The City Traffic Police Murree is making all efforts to provide maximum facilities to the public and tourists.”
Section 144
Murree administration has imposed Section 144 New Year’s Eve to ensure law and order and smooth traffic flow in the hill station..
The Deputy Commissioner of Murree has issued an official notification detailing the restrictions.
The administration has issued a notification imposing Section 144 on Murree, including Mall Road and GPO Chowk.
Entry will be prohibited for all visitors except families from December 30 to January 1.
The restrictions have been put in place due to security concerns during New Year celebrations.
Authorities have warned that any violation will be dealt with according to Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).

The administration stated that the move comes due to the overcrowding, mismanagement, and security concerns.
An unusually large number of tourists is expected during this period. Many tourists and families visit during the festive seasons.
During this period, firing in the air, fireworks, unnecessary gatherings, and road obstructions will be strictly prohibited.
Murree weather snowfall next 10 days
Murree is expected to remain cold over the next 10 days. The daytime temperatures are around 10–13°C, and nighttime lows are at or below 0°C.
There is a chance of snow or mixed rain and snow, especially at night when temperatures drop.
Overall, the weather will be cold and partly cloudy. Visitors should be prepared for chilly conditions and possible snowfall.
