KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan has announced that banks will remain closed for public transactions on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
According to the State Bank’s announcement, transactions with the public will remain suspended due to the bank holiday.
The announcement states that all commercial banks, development finance institutions and microfinance banks will also be closed for public transactions.
However, employees of banks and financial institutions will attend their offices as usual.
According to the State Bank, the bank holiday will apply only to public transactions.
The internal affairs of banks will be carried out as usual.
