Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the new magnificent arena of the Pakistan Rangers at the Wagah border in Lahore.
The inaugural ceremony of the newly built magnificent arena on Wagah Road was attended by the special guest, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, along with Punjab’s senior minister Maryam Aurangzeb, the Corps Commander Lahore of the Pakistan Army, key ministers, and senior members of the bureaucracy.
The seating capacity for the crowd in the new arena has been increased more than three and a half times, from 7,500 to 25,000.
Along with the arena expansion, new constructions have also been made at the Joint Check Post Wagah.
The new constructions include a theme park reflecting the historical events of the Partition of India, featuring a model of a railway station, war equipment, and a martyrs’ memorial.
A Pakistan Museum, illustrating the history and culture of Pakistan from the freedom movement to the present, has also been built in the arena.
Moreover, additional offices, barracks for Punjab Rangers personnel, prayer areas, and food courts are also included.
Spacious parking areas and a grand gateway in the style of the Royal Fort have also been installed at Bab-e-Azadi.
Along with all this, the national flag installed at the Joint Check Post Wagah has been raised to an even greater height of 115 meters.
Now, at this most important location, Pakistan’s green flag is flying at a height of 139 meters. The flag flying here is the seventh tallest in Asia and the tallest in South Asia.
