Gilgit-Baltistan's caretaker cabinet announced

WEB DESK: As elections are expected in the province of Gilgit Baltistan, the power to run the State has been handed over to the caretaker Government.

The official notification has been issued regarding the caretaker cabinet members of Gilgit-Baltistan. The cabinet will be composed of 14 members, including 12 ministers and 2 advisors.

According to the notification issued by the Gilgit-Baltistan Council of the Government of Pakistan, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, exercising the powers as Chairman Gilgit-Baltistan Council, has approved the summary of the caretaker cabinet on behalf of the caretaker Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan.

He got this chairmanship under Article 48A-II of the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan Order 2018.

The ministers announced for the Government include Sajid Ali Baig, Engineer Altaf Hussain, Ghulam Abbas, Colonel (retd) Abrar Ismail, Mehrdad, Sharafat Din, Maulana Sarwar Shah, Raja Shahbaz Khan, Mumtaz Hussain, Dr Niaz Ali, Syed Adil Shah and Bahadur Ali.

While Syeda Fatima and Abdul Hakeem are reported to be selected as the advisors.

Even in this extremely cold weather, the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) is busy clearing roads. They are doing this for the general public and for trade activities.

Khunjerab Top, one of the most important roads between China and Pakistan which is located 15,397 feet above, has also been cleared.
